I can only hope I can complete RAMROD this year, let along cycling to and fro.

I worked the park entrance gate last year and am riding for my first time this year. As for the bandits, we just sent them over to the booth to pay. It's a public park, anyone can ride there, but your registration covers your park admission.

We did the ride from the entrance to paradise after our shift was over, that last 6 miles is quite a grind. You should hit chinook pass too, it is not that long and it does feel really good when you get up there.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05303108359883627686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-4165415903789912102009-03-10T13:07:00.000-07:002009-03-10T13:07:00.000-07:00http://www.redmondcyclingclub.org/RAMROD/RAMROD_co...http://www.redmondcyclingclub.org/RAMROD/RAMROD_course_information.html

0500Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02315674846875248847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-22815909694749334342009-03-10T12:54:00.000-07:002009-03-10T12:54:00.000-07:00Ah, I just noticed when I signed up for the lotter...Ah, I just noticed when I signed up for the lottery that Active lists the 5am start time. The RAMROD site shows 6am though, so I guess that's the official start.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-32746669195943461912009-03-04T08:50:00.000-08:002009-03-04T08:50:00.000-08:00Bill, that was a long 19-hour bike ride, and the b...Bill, that was a long 19-hour bike ride, and the breakfast portion was at the very beginning. I'm sure that if they were charging for the waffles, I paid them the fee.

Do you think I just ripped the waffles from their poor hands?! Sorry to hear they lost a lot of money that day, but I didn't steal from them.

As for the start time, I could have sworn I saw 5 AM listed. Anyway thanks for the info.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-10925513766400013502009-03-03T22:06:00.000-08:002009-03-03T22:06:00.000-08:00The free waffle breakfast wasn't free, and the Sen...The free waffle breakfast wasn't free, and the Senior Center that volunteered to cook and serve it lost a lot of money. Please pay the money next time, if indeed we have it this time.

RAMROD starts the same time this year as last year.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02315674846875248847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-80660116424955865802008-08-10T19:45:00.000-07:002008-08-10T19:45:00.000-07:00Very nice. I'm always glad to be able to brag about my adventures.

I got my sealskinz gloves at SJScycles (online) - they're in the UK, but I was buying a dynohub light that only they had, so I picked up the gloves as well. Only took about a week for delivery. http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/

I'm not sure which model the gloves are, I think they only had one pair on the site. I definitely want some of the socks! If they're anything like the gloves I'm gonna have a magical winter of warm riding! The extremities are always the first to suffer.matt mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16714669646251289155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-44887115208942528592008-08-07T17:29:00.000-07:002008-08-07T17:29:00.000-07:00Matt - nice report as always, you give me inspirat...Matt - nice report as always, you give me inspiration to go for more hills!
Which Seal Skinz did you get and where? have you tried the socks?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-50704856676453274012008-08-05T01:40:00.000-07:002008-08-05T01:40:00.000-07:00I'm not that bothered by traffic these days. With a reflective sash on and a front/rear lights going, I felt plenty safe.

Also, I think the trail has more driveway crossings, while 169 had only 5-6 all the way to Enumclaw it seemed. I was wanting to do this as fast as possible, and I figure the road is always faster.

I think it's good for cars to see bikes on more roads, they'll get used to it eventually. But maybe I'll check out the trail some time - thanks for the tip!matt mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16714669646251289155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-21601026845575996492008-08-04T21:25:00.000-07:002008-08-04T21:25:00.000-07:00Great, you got to be a little crazy. btw, along s...Great, you got to be a little crazy. btw, along side 169 is the Cedar River trail, paved. saves the stress of 169 traffic. catch it under I-405 on the other side of the river from the community center.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3996512539454415045.post-40130513019621831042008-08-02T08:13:00.000-07:002008-08-02T08:13:00.000-07:00Rad.Great report.
